Becky Braun-Slife serves as the Senior Associate Director for Student Support at CSSI, where she is deeply committed to fostering an environment in which all students feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive as members of the Columbia community.
Prior to joining CSSI, Becky served as Associate Director of Advising at the Columbia School of Social Work, providing holistic support to graduate students through academic planning, practicum education, and guidance around personal challenges impacting their educational experiences. She has also served as an Adjunct Advisor at Columbia and Fordham University and as a Field Instructor at several NYC graduate schools.
Before entering higher education, Becky focused her career on child welfare, specializing in domestic and intercountry adoption, accreditation, and policy implementation. She earned her Master of Social Work from Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service and her Bachelor of Arts from James Madison University.
Living in Brooklyn with her family and 2 cats, Becky enjoys travel and exploring used bookstores. And although she has been out of school for many years, she still loves purchasing a new paper planner each academic year.
